This conference will bring together mental health, social service, long-term care administrators, and public safety practicioners, along with several esteemed members of the Tennessee Bar Association to discuss aspects of mental health law and the role of the State mental health justice system in assuring that mental health concerns are understood and addressed. Examples of issues to discuss include:
- When subpeonaed, how far does HIPPA extend to turning over mental health records?
- How do you satisfy the requirement for involuntary treatment/hospitalization?
- What are the real problems and viable solutions to incarerating people with mental illness?
