On April 27, 2009, the Mental Health Association of Middle Tennessee hosted the 11th Annual Jammin’ to Beat the Blues benefit concert. Held at the historic Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville, this year’s featured performer is Vince Gill with special guests Rodney Crowell, Lynn Marie, Joe Don Rooney, Amy Grant and Jenny Gill joined him throughout the evening. The event was hosted by Nancy Van Camp of WSMV News Channel 4.
Jammin’ to Beat the Blues, an annual concert featuring well-known and regarded musical talent, was started 11 years ago to raise awareness and funds for the Mental Health Association of Middle Tennessee. Jammin’ to Beat the Blues started at 328 Performance Hall and moved to the Ryman Auditorium in 2002 to accommodate the event’s growing popularity. Past performers have included: John Cowan, Emerson Drive, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Andy Griggs, Kathy Mattea, Heidi Newfield, Riders In The Sky, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, Tanya Tucker, and LeAnn Womack.
